Jason Kelce is done playing in the NFL, but he still needs to keep up his physical activity – as mandated by his wife Kylie.
The former Eagles star announced his retirement after last season, and now has far more time on his hands with his 13-year pro playing career in the rearview mirror.
But while he’s no longer manning Philly’s offensive line, he is following a workout plan of sorts as per his wife Kylie’s rules.
Kelce explained on Green Light with Chris Long that he has to ‘work out a minimum of three days a week, otherwise she doesn’t want to deal with me.’
‘…When I’ve worked out, I am in a great mood, I interact well at home with my kids and everybody – I just am a better person,’ he explained.
Jason and Kylie, who have been married since 2018 share three kids together: four-year-old Wyatt, three-year-old Elliotte and one-year-old Bennett.
Long, who hosts the Yote House Media-produced show, echoed a similar sentiment as his ex-Eagles teammate.
‘…I feel like part of why guys struggle after [retirement] is not just because of like missing football, but it’s also like we’re accustomed to a certain amount of physical activity for our for your dopamine,’ he began.
‘…And that for me, if I don’t work out, I’m like tough to deal with.’
Kelce, who played most of his career at 295 pounds, also opened up about his weight loss since his retirement.
“[I weighed] 276 this morning. It was big because I was stuck at 280 for [the last like three months],’ he said.

Kelce previously detailed to GQ that he had hoped to get down to 250 or 260 pounds during retirement, but that there was a limit to how much weight he wanted to lose.
‘I don’t want to get too small,’ he said. ‘I think a lot of guys, especially offensive linemen, they lose too much weight, and then they look like bobbleheads because their neck gets so small, but their head stays the same size.’
Aside from his Kylie-mandated workout routine, he will also be keeping busy as a part of ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast every week.
His first assignment will be the Jets’ trip to the 49ers on September 9.
