Simone Biles is among the most notable names competing at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France. Her medal-winning ways and off-the-mat antics have only made her name more prominent during these Olympics.

In one of the most outstanding displays of sportsmanship in any Olympic sport, Biles and her teammate, Jordan Chiles, decided to bow to Brazilian gold medal winner Rebeca Andrade after winning silver and bronze medals in the gymnastics floor exercise, respectively.

However, the incredible act of respect in sports has made people wonder why the two USA gymnasts decided to do it in the first place. The reason is “a pivotal moment” in sports history and must be seen worldwide.

Simone Biles Calls For An Important Moment On The World Stage

CNN interviewed the American gymnast, and when asked about the moment, she explained, “I think it was really important for that moment.” She added, “It was very impactful for kids to see that,” even after mentioning that it was just the two being themselves.

The moment was on the spot after Biles and Chiles decided to do it then and there. However, she also pointed out that Andrade deserved it after overcoming a case of “the Twisties,” in which a gymnast forgets how to make moves in the air, something Biles knows all too well.

The 25-year-old Andrade had overcome three ACL tears to compete at the year’s biggest sporting event. She has won four medals: one gold, two silvers, and one bronze.
